The palaver tree of the Chiefdom of Bissam hosted on April 22, 2015 an information and sensitization meeting of the riparian population of the village, relating to the exploitation of part of the forest management unit of Ambam-Ebolowa (UFA 0919, cutting plate 4-2). Chaired by the Sub-Prefect of Ebolowa II, the meeting brought together the staff of the Sub-prefecture, the mayor of the Municipality of Ebolowa II, the Chief of the village Bissam, the representative of the departmental delegation of forests and the fauna of the Mvila, the Director of General Affairs, the Quality Manager and the Controller of the Global Trading Company Ltd, as well as the large population of the village.
Participate in the socio-economic development of the villages
The objective of this meeting was to sensitize and inform the population on the merits of the exploitation by Global Trading Company Ltd of part of the communal forest. The Director of General Affairs of the Global Trading Company Ltd, Mr. Emmanuel Mpouma, recalled that the 50% of the Annual Forest Fee (RFA) donated to the municipalities concerned by the FMUs are intended for 70% for the socio-economic achievements of the municipal space. and 30% to the management of municipalities, according to the last ministerial decree. 50% of the Annual Forest Fee (RFA) is also donated to the Municipality concerned. The meeting made it possible to answer the questions and complaints of the villagers, as well as the compensation provided for the accidental or forced degradation of crops, assistance in the construction of a watchtower for the Chiefdom and financial contribution for various social projects. Global Trading Company Ltd, concerned about the social development of neighboring villages, responded generously.
